Alphabet Freebie

Does it feel like spring yet where you are?  Although it doesn't feel very springy here, I thought a summer freebie would get us feeling in the warmer weather mood.

So here is a little freebie for you.

Enjoy.

Interactive Books - The Farm

I'm so excited.
It's been so long since I've made something new that I forgot how excited I get to show the kids something new.

I decided to make a couple of farm interactive books.  Interactive books were the first things I ever made and I just love making new ones.

I decided to make these ones a little smaller inside.
I kept the outside cover the same size so that when you store them, you don't catch the pieces and they won't fall off.

The two books both have interactive pieces.
The first one has words and the children need to put the correct word in each sentence.

The second book requires the children to read the sentence and put the right animal in the picture.

I also made some flash card that I could put up around the room for the children to refer too.

I also made the same books in a black and white version so the children could cut and paste and then take them home.

Wonder"ful" Book

Happy March Break everyone.  I'm so excited for a few days off.  It always seems like March
Break is the turning point for the end of the year.  When we return, the rest of the year seems to fly by.

I love to take the March Break to relax and catch up on some reading.  I ordered an amazing book from last months Scholastic book order.

Wonder is the story about Auggie Pullman,  Auggie was born with facial deformities and has been home schooled up until now.  As Auggie enters 5th grade it's a coming of age story not only for him but for the whole school.

I absolutely loved this book.  As someone who works with the special needs population, it's important to understand the world from their point of view, and that of the family.

It's a quick read and would be perfect for a grade 5/6 class.  So if you are looking for someone wonder"ful" to read over your holiday, I would highly recommend Wonder by R.J. Palacio.
