I'm joining in the linky party from

I'm very thankful for a few things this year.

1. My family.  My family has had some pretty serious health issues this year.  I'm hoping that everyone is on their way to a healthier year.

2. My boys.  They are the light of my life and they make me proud everyday.

3. My students. Each year my students continue to surprise me with their courage and the joy the experience every day.

4. My blogging friends.  I have made some wonderful friends this past year and I truly appreciate their support and help in my blogging journey.

What are you thankful for?  Clink on the linky picture above to join in the fun.

Stone Soup

When we were at the farmer's market on Friday we picked up some great vegetables.

Carrots, parsnips, potatoes, onions, beans and garlic.

What to do with all these vegetables?  Make Stone Soup of course.

We read two versions of the story.

Stone Soup by Jon Muth

and Bone Button Borscht by Aubrey Davis.
We peeled and chopped all the vegetables and tomorrow we will be putting them in a pot to make our stone soup.

Beginning sound sort

We have been working on the letters f and b and today we tried sorting some pictures by there beginning sounds.

I used Beginning Sound Sorts by Arianne at

Ketchen's Kindergarten

We started with a piece of paper with an f and a b at the top of the page.

We went through each picture as a group and I had the children put the pictures under the correct heading.

Fall Freebie

I had such a rough week last week that I decided to create a little freebie for fall.
This activity contains the numbers 1 to 5.  Children have to put the correct number of acorns in the wagon.  Click on the picture below to get it for free.
If your students need numbers to 10, I have made the same activity with the higher numbers in my Happy Fall pack.
The pack contains 3 activities.
In "squirrel counting numbers", children put the correct number of acorns to 10 in the wagons.

In "find the missing numbers" children put the correct acorn on either side of the squirrel.
And in "squirrel number order", children put the squirrels in the right order.  I've included 2 sets of squirrels with numbers 0 to 10
Click on any of the pictures to go to my TpT store to get it.
